As St Anthony of Padua prepares for the demolish of a small house in very bad condition to be demolished they offered the amazing volunteer fire fighters of Red Bank a fabulous opportunity to have cadets and newly graduated fire fighters a chance to practice their fire fighting skills on the home. The home was staged with a car accident, injured baby and home fire. Fire fighters had to assess the situation and address it accordingly. This gave them valuable opportunity to practice what they have been learning. Cadets (14-17yr olds) were able to use a ladder to practice getting into a house and a new graduate was able to get to the roof and use a saw to cut a hole in the roof. It was a great opportunity for all these great men and women who are all volunteers!
