6.1.2013 First blessing from newly ordained priests Fr Juan Rojas, Fr Jorge Bedoya, Fr Carlos Aguierre and Fr Garry Koch, June 1, 2013

The power of the Holy Spirit emanating from a new priest and his hands is immeasurable, like the stars in the heavens. A ‘First Blessing’ from a newly ordained priest is very special. Being blessed by a priest is a wonderful thing, and even thought it turns out there is no special indulgence that goes along with a ‘First Blessing.’ It is a wonderful custom and encouraged!

Fr Garry Koch blesses Brother Ralph Montedoro, FSC, principal at Christian Brothers Academy from 1991–2005, where Dr Garry Koch taught for 28 years

Fr Jorge Bedoya, also from Columbia blesses a beautiful little girl.

Fr Jorge Bedoya blesses Fr Dennis Apoldite, the Pastor of Sacred Heart Chruch in Trenton, Nj where Columbian and other international semianrians live while learning English. Fr Dennis is the Coordinator of the House of Priestly Formation

I am sure this blessing was VERY moving too as they lived in the same rectory for years and go to know and love each other very well. It's like the Father receiving the blessing from the Son!

 Eligia Hernandez is the housekeeper at Sacred Heart church in Trenton where she got to know many of the young seminarians  including Nicholas Dolan, who lived at Sacred Heart last summer for his Summer 2012 parish assignment.
